The Pre-trip Post

So, just to catch everything up, my name is Ali, and I believe I will be the main "blogger" while the family is abroad. If you hadn't already guessed from the title, we are going Outback, Down Under. In two weeks, we are leaving to go to Australia for two months, and this blog is a way of keeping you all informed as we venture into the...world's backyard, if you will. My sister and I are unenrolling from the school system for these two months in search of a more hands-on experience in the exciting, frightening, and utterly bewildering enigma of the earth that is Australia. I, myself, am rather excited to see the Great Barrier Reef, the great Uluru/Ayers Rock monolith, and my bath water draining in a counter-clockwise circular motion. We are really psyched about this trip, and we will keep you informed every step of the way!

Hi Ali:

Thanks for keeping us up to date. Just so you know, the Coriolus (sp?) effect influences atmospheric disturbances (like high- and low-pressure areas), not so much the water flowing down the drain. So, if you're on the east coast, watch out for those 'soueasters, as opposed to the 'noreasters we have here in Boston. I'm sure you won't be disappointed in any case. Safe travels!

ok, I'm going to be reading this daily, so let's keep it interesting... I take that back. Leave the truly interesting and important things (we all know the code) for me. I'm expecting great things. :)Don't go!

Hello family,
This is actually Stacie. I know this is an oddly timed question, however, it could use a timely response. Sydney is signed up for the indoor soccer that starts in January. The coach for our team needs more players to complete a roster. There is not enough room on other teams for these players. Nora had mentioned possibly playing in that league. I was wondering if you would want me to sign her up for that? No money is due until the first day of play. If she does want to I need to sign her up or they might not have a team to put her on. I know that all things stateside must be the last thing on your mind, but I will check your blog for an answer or you can just email. I hope you are having an amazing time adding to your fabulous family memories. Look forward to hearing from you. Please give Nora a big hug from us!
